Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has revealed that he turned down a job offer to become the Tunisian national team coach,
The 59-year-old coach joined the struggling Amakhosi in July last year. After the club finished 10th last season in the Betway Premiership, the Tunisian was called to assist and help the club get back to winning. In the seven months in charge, Nabi has helped Chiefs to fourth in the league this season so far.
Following his impressive 1-0 win over Stellenbosch, the Kaizer Chiefs coach revealed that he was wanted in Tunisia.
“I’d like to say thank you to Dr Kaizer Motaung, to Kaizer Jr, Bobby Motaung and the entire management,” Nabi said as per FARPost.
“I have been offered an opportunity to go coach my country and we [Chiefs management] have sat together and decided that I’m going to pass this big opportunity to coach my mother country.
“But I feel it’s an honour to be here and I say thank you to everyone and the management.”

“I’m very happy for the performance today and for the three points,” Nabi after the Stellies match.
“It’s not easy to beat in a few weeks or two times a team like Stellenbosch because it’s a very good team with a very good coaching staff.
“And as well to win in Cape Town, it’s not always easy. We’re very happy for the three points and the performance.”
Nabi will coach in his 19th match for Kaizer Chiefs when they host Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup last 16.
