Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has faced another question on the prolonged absence of Monnapule Saleng.

JOSE RIVEIRO ON MONNAPULE SALENG

The last time Orlando Pirates supporters saw Saleng was in the 3-2 loss to Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout in October 2024. “I don’t speak about the health of my players; it’s something that belongs to the private space,” said Riveiro via the Citizen.

“The moments the club feels it’s time to speak about which players are injured and how long they are going to take, which moment of the process they’re in, they’ll do it. It’s not part of my job description; it’s not an ethical thing,” the Orlando Pirates mentor added.

ORLANDO PIRATES TARGETING TWO WINGERS

Katlego Otladisa and Gilberto have gone to Sekhukhune United and Petro de Luanda on respective loans until the end of the season, and there is certainly no guarantee that the duo will still have futures at Orlando Pirates.

TSHEPANG MOREMI

The name Tshepang Moremi was initially linked with Kaizer Chiefs since last season before Amakhosi looked to Oswin Appollis and then later Glody Lilepo. According to Soccer Laduma, Orlando Pirates have taken the lead to sign Moremi after the 24-year-old’s two goals and two assists in 18 games so far this season. “As things stand now, we can say Pirates are in the forefront compared to Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs,” the source told the outlet. “They have inquired about his services and things could work out at the end of the season. It will all depend on talks and negotiations whenever they start as it’s still early to say much at the moment.

An additional insider said: “As I have said, it will all depend on the talks and negotiations but it could involve money and player exchange as well. The value of the player and what AmaZulu want from Pirates could also determine the whole deal at the end of the day.”

JAEDIN RHODES

Additionally, the same outlet believes that Orlando Pirates are also following Cape Town City’s Rhodes.
