International performing DJ based in South Africa, Lungelihle Zwane, well-known as Uncle Waffles, has recently voiced out her disappointment with how some of the things were handled at an event that she attended in Kenya.
According to the statement issued by the Wadibusa DJ on her Instagram story and X (formerly Twitter) page, on the event, there were sound issues before she performed and her team was mishandled, she stated that these events took her by surprise.
“What has disappointed me most though is how my supporters were treated by the organisers and security at the event- people were pushed around, mishandled and treated with the least amount of care and that is something I will not stand for.”
The Swazi native also mentioned in the statement that the safety and well-being of people who go out to support her and the Amapiano genre automatically become her top priority. She said she had to halt her set for a while because people were visibly uncomfortable and at risk of getting hurt.
Uncle Waffles had this to say to the organisers of the event: “To the event organisers, you have not only disappointed me, but you have also let down the 10,000+ people who came out in support of this event. I urge you to do better if you desire to continue putting events together in the future.
“Kenya I hope to see you again soon with a much better outcome. I love you guys so much,” she penned.

Despite the displeasing experience, Uncle Waffles made it clear that she had an amazing crowd.
