Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs failed to finish third in the Betway Premiership after giving up an early two-goal lead to draw with Royal AM.

MAMKHIZE CELEBRATES ROYAL AM’S DRAW WITH KAIZER CHIEFS

Kaizer Chiefs were bullish in the first half and scored the opener five minutes into play.

Yusuf Maart set Ashley Du Preez to make the breakthrough. However, Wandile Duba doubled the lead with a first-time finish from Solomons.

Ayabulela Maxwele pulled one back for Royal AM in the 51st minute. However, Levy Mashaine levelled matters in the 89th minute, giving Royal AM a much-needed point.

However, Royal AM owner MaMkhize is making headlines against the backdrop of her club’s draw with Kaizer Chiefs.

Despite the SARS raiding her Durban home last week, she found time to support the team as always. This was arguably her first public appearance after the raid on 26 November.

She was all smiles after Royal AM scored the equaliser. However, several photos of MaMkhize during the match have since flooded social media.

MaMkhize was seen dancing and singing as she supported Royal AM. Many were convinced she was ‘unbothered’ by her SARS woes.

SARS’ RECENT RAID

On 26 November, the South African Revenue Service (SARS), assisted by the police, raided MaMkhize’s R20 million La Lucia house.

However, SARS confirmed news of the raid but did not reveal if they had contacted similar raids at her other properties as alleged.

MaMkhize reportedly owes SARS around R37 million in unpaid taxes. The South Africanhas since established that the raid was done to preserve and secure assets from the businesswoman.

The taxman revealed that the raid was part of its “effort to combat tax evasion and criminal activity that undermines the country’s economy.”

MAKING HEADLINES

A few months ago, SARS said they were progressing in the matter against MaMkhize.

Earlier this year, the publication reported that SARS failed to close down on the multi-millionaire after “there was a standoff between the two security companies when the SARS tried to seize some of her assets.”

However, reports suggested that curators visited MaMkhize’s properties in Sandton and Durban but could not gain access to them.

However, at the time ZiMojareported that the raids came after SARS applied for an execution order at the Pietermaritzburg High Court against Royal AM owner MaMkhize.

COULD THIS BE THE FALL OF MAMKHIZE?
