Grammy Award-winning singer, Tyla is gearing up to host the eagerly awaited Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

After securing herself several awards in the world of music, the time has come for Joburg-born singer Tyla Seethal to get on the other side of the microphone; after she was announced as the host of this year’s prestigious award ceremony.

Her inclusion as this year’s host will see her following in the footsteps of several industry elites, such as John Cena, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, as well as comedian Kevin Hart.

Taking to social media, the singer was overwhelmed with gratitude.

“I’m really about to host the kids’ choice awards,” she wrote.

Based on some of her recent accolades and successes, it appears that she will not be a stranger to the awards evening. In 2024, she was nominated in multiple categories, which include Favourite Breakout Artist, Favourite Global Music Star, and Favourite Viral Song.

This year, she has once again captivated the hearts of her most die-hard fans, when she did not only attend her first-ever Coachella Festival but also delivered her first performance at the event while exclusively debuting her latest single, Bliss, which sent the crowd into a state of euphoria.

Following her announcement as the host, fans streamed to the comment section to share their thoughts.

“I’ve watched Nickelodeon since I was a child, never thought I’d see one of us there. I love it, wrote one user. Another added, “That just gave me a reason to watch this year’s show.”

The awards ceremony is set to take place on 21 June 2025.
