Two Kaizer Chiefs stars played through the pain

Kaizer Chiefs pulled off a heroic win over Sundowns to reach the Nedbank Cup final. Two players deserve special praise.

Dove and Cele played through injuries to help Kaizer Chiefs beat Sundowns

“Dove played here with an injury, Zitha was on the bench with an injury and with that, we brought Aden with us; he did a session with us, trained with us, but when they played DDC, he travelled with them,” the Kaizer Chiefs coach told iDiski Times.

“Thabo Cele also had an injury, all of them played with injuries, but when you see the performances with our players, you can understand how much they love this team, how much they deserve to be in this team and what they did, they did for the fans. It’s to make them happy, to make them proud of us,” concluded the Kaizer Chiefs trainer.

Pivotal MTN8 clash lies ahead for Amakhosi

With the news of Royal AM’s expulsion from the PSL, all points collected against them have become null and void. As a result, the revised table sees Chiefs sit on 29 points after 23 games. Previously, they were on 30 points after 24 outings. Points mean more than games in hand at this stage of a campaign. Chippa and Golden Arrows both pose a serious threat to their ambitions of a top-eight finish; the Chilli Boys are now level on points with the Glamour Boys and have a game in hand on Nabi’s men. An imminent trip to Chippa on Saturday 19 April at 17:30 could be make or break. Defeat in this clash is unthinkable for Amakhosi fans.

Latest rumours
