Kaizer Chiefs have a mammoth Nedbank Cup semi-final with Sundowns, and they are set to contest it without two key stars.
Chiefs sweat on fitness of key duo
Kaizer Chiefs are likely to be without Thabo Cele and central defender Inacio Miguel for their Nedbank Cup semi-final with Sundowns on Sunday. Midfield anchor Cele missed the 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy last weekend after sustaining a knock in Chiefs’ 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows. Meanwhile, Angolan star Miguel was injured against Galaxy. That’s a blow, with the new signing making 26 appearances this season across all competitions.
Nabi on Miguel and Cele
“For Miguel and Thabo Cele … I will answer after. It’s open,” said Nabi. If the Tunisian tactician is without both players, he’ll have to stick with the midfield pairing that started against Galaxy; Yusuf Maart and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
Predicted Amakhosi XI vs Sundowns
Bvuma; Solomons, Msimango, Kwinika, Dove; Ngcobo, Maart; Duba, Shabalala, Du Preez; Morris.
Transfer rumours from the Kaizer Chiefs camp
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs have several strikers on their transfer wish list. Bosnian star Dzenan Zajmovic is the latest in a long line. He’s got eight goals in 22 league appearances this term. Here’s the latest from the rumour mill.
