Mrs Wold Tshego Gaelae received a warm welcome from South Africans after clinching the historical win of the 40th Miss World in Las Vegas, USA.
The Soweto-born attorney was recently dubbed the first black South African Miss World, making Ishadi Amanda from Sri Lanka and Thailand’s Ploy Panperm the runner-ups.
Mrs South Africa who now won the Mrs World beauty pageant recently made her way to her home in South Africa, where she received a glorious homecoming from mzansi.
The Mrs South Africa page took to their Instagram to share the snaps of Tshego’s red carpet treatment at OR Tambo International Airport.
The organisation expressed their gratitude to the Executive Mayor of Johannesburg Dada Morero and the MMC of Community Development Kabelo Gwamanda, who also welcomed Tshego at the airport.
“From Soweto to the World, Tshego’s groundbreaking victory in Las Vegas—becoming the 40th Mrs. World and the first black woman to wear the crown—is a beacon of inspiration for South Africa and beyond. An attorney, leader, and woman of grace, she embodies the power of perseverance and purpose,” they said.
The Mrs World page also thanked Tshego’s family and close friends for bing part of the welcoming.
