US President Donald Trump has strongly reacted to Hunter Biden’s trip to South Africa, threatening to strip his predecessor’s son of state security.
Hunter – whose father is Joe Biden – is currently in the country with his South African-born wife, Melissa Biden.
Over recent weeks, Trump has accused SA of being a “very bad place” that “racially discriminates” against white people, particularly Afrikaners.
DONALD TRUMP REACTS TO HUNTER BIDEN BEING IN SA
In a Truth Social post, President Donald Trump slammed Hunter Biden’s continued use of taxpayer-funded security and lashed out at the former president’s son for visiting South Africa.
He posted: “Hunter Biden has had Secret Service protection for an extended period of time. All paid for by the United States taxpayer.”
Trump continued: “He is vacationing in, of all places, South Africa, where the human rights of people have been strenuously questioned. Because of this, South Africa has been taken off our list of countries receiving economic and financial assistance”.
Trump added that Hunter’s security had been removed, as had his sister Ashley.
SEEKING ASYLUM IN SOUTH AFRICA?
According to several US political commentators, Hunter Biden fled the US to South Africa to allegedly avoid potential prosecution in a Californian lawsuit.
He has been pictured in Cape Town on a Safari and is reportedly staying in a “five-star oceanside villa.”
Over the years, Hunter Biden has made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
This includes drug and alcohol abuse, tax evasion, and the illegal possession of a firearm.
In 2019, a laptop allegedly belonging to Hunter was said to contain information of questionable business dealings abroad. According to USA Today, it also reportedly contained explicit photos of Hunter and other adults.
Biden argued that the allegations were a “conspiracy theory.”
Late last year, his father, Joe Biden, quietly pardoned him for all federal offenses committed between 2014 and 2024. This includes any potential offenses not yet discovered.
