Rapper Tory Lanez has landed in the hospital after a violent attack inside a California prison.
The Canadian artist, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting fellow hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion.
TORY LANEZ STABBED IN PRISON
On Monday morning, chaos erupted at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi. Lanez was stabbed 14 times by another inmate at around 7:20 a.m. local time.
Prison staff responded swiftly, called emergency services, and administered medical aid. Medical staff rushed Lanez to an outside hospital for further treatment.
A post from Tory Lanez’s verified Instagram account revealed the extent of his injuries, according to ABC.
“Tory was stabbed 14 times, including seven wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head and one to the left side of his face.
Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own.”
INVESTIGATIONS BEGIN
Despite the horror, Tory Lanez is reportedly in good spirits. “Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through,” the post continued.
Authorities have identified the alleged attacker as Santino Casio, a 42-year-old inmate serving a life sentence for murder.
Casio has a history of violence behind bars, including previous convictions for assaults with deadly weapons.
Authorities have now moved him to restricted housing while they continue investigations.
TORY LANEZ LEGAL PROBLEMS
Lanez’s troubles began in July 2020 after a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home. Megan Thee Stallion, real name Megan Pete, accused Lanez of shooting her in both feet as she walked away from their vehicle.
In December 2022, a jury convicted Lanez of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
During sentencing, Megan delivered a powerful statement: “He not only shot me, he made a mockery of my trauma.
He tried to position himself as a victim and set out to destroy my character and my soul.”
TORY LANEZ AND MEGAN
Lanez’s legal team has appealed his conviction, but courts have denied his requests for a new trial or bail.
Megan has also secured a protective order against Lanez, valid until 2030, after alleging harassment from prison.
As the investigation continues, fans and critics alike wonder what’s next for the embattled rapper.
For now, Tory Lanez’s survival is a story of resilience amid chaos reminder that fame offers little protection behind bars.
