Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly open to the idea of loaning out Bafana Bafana defender Rushine de Reuck.
And that’s according to a report by FARPost, who claims De Reuck approached coach Miguel Cardoso to request a move away from Sundowns.
De Reuck has not been a regular at Sundowns of late following his return from a long-term injury.
The 28-year-old centre-back has featured in just six matches across all competitions for the Brazilians this season.
De Reuck is yet to feature in any of Sundowns’ competitive matches since the start of 2025.
While there were reports of Sekhukhune United’s interest in the forgotten Bafana Bafana defender, Sundowns rejected that.
However, the latest is that De Reuck could still leave Sundowns before the closing of the current transfer window on 28 January.
There is also a possibility of a loan-to-buy arrangement should there be any interest in the former Maritzburg United star.
SUNDOWNS DEFENDER HANDS IN TRANSFER REQUEST
“Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rushine de Reuck could still secure his loan exit, with reports suggesting that head coach Miguel Cardoso has approved his departure,” reads part of the report.
“Sundowns initially rejected an approach from Sekhukhune United for the defender’s loan move.
“However, the situation seems to have changed. De Reuck reportedly reached out to the Portuguese coach, seeking a release to secure more playing time elsewhere.”
“Cardoso, who apparently prefers to work with a smaller squad, has given the 28-year-old player the green light to pursue a potential loan move,” added the report.
WHICH PSL TEAM WOULD USE DE REUCK EFFECTIVELY?
