TikTok has revealed its 2025 Discover List, showcasing 50 creators from around the globe. Six talented individuals from Sub-Saharan Africa have earned a coveted spot.
These creators are being recognised for their impact on digital culture. The list spans five categories: Icons, Innovators, Foodies, Educators, and Originators, according to Lifestyle and Tech.
TIKTOK HONOURS CREATORS
Boniswa Sidwaba, Head of Content Operations, SSA, TikTok, said, “We carefully consider all content creators on our platform. We select finalists based on their impact both on TikTok and in the real world.”
Sidwaba also added, “These creators have sparked trends, started meaningful conversations, showcased creativity, and fostered safe spaces for their communities”, according to Business Times.
Educators:
- Roy Kanyi (Kenya): Roy simplifies the world of tech. His engaging content helps viewers make smart choices about gadgets and he is a go-to source for tech education.
Foodies:
- Tosin Samuel (Nigeria): Known as Tspicekitchen, Tosin is redefining food storytelling. She blends Nigerian tradition with global flavours, turning every meal into an experience.
- Abena Amoakoaa Sintim-Aboagye (Ghana): Chefabby shares the richness of Ghanaian cuisine, she gives traditional dishes a modern twist, according to Financial Fortune.

Icons:
- Charity Ekezie (Nigeria): Charity challenges stereotypes about Africa through humour, her viral skits have captivated over three million followers. She even collaborated with Bill Gates.
Innovators:
- Fanuel Masamaki (Tanzania): Zerobrainer0 is revolutionising sports content, his comedic twist on football has made him a household name. He won Sports Creator of the Year at the TikTok Creator Awards in South Africa.
Originators:
- Thato Seth Mathobela (TitoM) & Bongani Kenneth Sibanyoni (Yuppe) (South Africa): This dynamic duo has taken South African music global. Their viral hits have earned them fans across Europe and beyond.
