Temu opens warehouse in SA

Fast-growing e-commerce giant Temu has officially opened a local warehouse in South Africa, promising much faster delivery times for local shoppers.

As reported by Mybroadband, the local warehouse will mean, in some cases, that items could be delivered within one or two days.

This will be a major shift for South African users, who have grown accustomed to waiting days or weeks for their parcels.

Temu warehouse promises faster delivery in SA

Until now, all items on Temu have been shipped directly from China. With the new warehouse, items marked “local” can now be delivered in under two days, in some cases, even the next day.

That’s a big change for South African shoppers who are used to waiting days or even weeks for their purchases.

While Temu hasn’t yet revealed which courier handles the local deliveries, products shipped from outside the country still follow the known path: Buffalo Logistics imports them, and Fastway handles the last-mile delivery.

This is Temu’s first major domestic infrastructure move since entering the South African market in January 2024. The warehouse announcement could also signal a deeper commitment to local operations and possibly more expansion to come.
