Johannesburg was buzzing on 20 March 2025 as Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems brought her Born In The Wild Tour to The Dome, Nasrec.

Joining her on stage was South Africa’s very own R&B sensation, Elaine. This made this a night to remember for fans of soulful music and electrifying performances.

TEMS IN JOHANNESBURG

Tems, known for her unique blend of Afrobeat, R&B, and neo-soul, delivered an unforgettable experience.

Her rich voice and emotive lyrics captivated the audience from the moment she stepped onto the stage, according to Fakaza News.

“There’s something about the energy that is indescribable,” Tems shared in a past interview. “I wouldn’t trade live performances for anything.”

True to her word, she poured her heart into every note, leaving the crowd in awe.

ELAINE SETS THE MOOD

Elaine, a trailblazer in South African music, added a special local flair to the evening. She performed hits from her platinum EP Elements, including fan favourites like You’re The One.

Her soulful voice resonated deeply with the audience, proving why she’s one of South Africa’s most celebrated artists.

“Partnering with Tems for this concert is monumental,” said Monde Twala, SVP of Paramount Africa. “It showcases the power of music to connect us all.”

THE VENUE AND TICKET PRICES

The Dome was packed with fans eager to witness this historic collaboration. Tickets ranged from R800 to R1,310, making it accessible to a wide audience.

The venue itself added to the magic—recently opened in January 2025, it offered state-of-the-art acoustics and visuals that elevated the performances.

Elaine took the stage at 8 PM, followed by Tems at 9 PM. Together, they created an atmosphere of pure musical bliss.

Fans sang along to every word, their voices echoing through the venue. “This is what music is all about,” said one attendee. “It’s about connection and feeling alive.”

TEMS EVOLUTION

The partnership with MTV Base as an official media sponsor amplified the event’s impact, according to Music In Africa.

“We’re thrilled to support African artists shaping the future of music,” Twala noted. The collaboration highlighted the global reach of African talent while celebrating its roots.

For Tems, this tour was more than just a series of concerts—it was a journey of self-discovery and connection.

Her ability to evolve as an artist shone through every performance. “I’m always learning,” she explained.

“My music reflects my experiences in life.” This authenticity resonated with fans who have followed her rise from breakout hits like Essence to collaborations with icons like Beyoncé.

A MUSICAL POWERHOUSE

Elaine’s presence further cemented her status as a powerhouse in R&B. Her recent visual album Stone Cold Heart debuted at number one across genres.

‘The Born In The Wild Tour’ was a celebration of African excellence in music, according to Big Concerts.

As Tems herself declared, “I will change the way people look at Africa.” With nights like this one, she’s well on her way.

Fans left The Dome inspired and energised, already anticipating what these two extraordinary artists will do next.

For now, their unforgettable performances remain etched in Johannesburg’s memory—a testament to the power of music to unite and uplift.
