The sister of Kelly Smith, who was found guilty of kidnapping and trafficking her daughter, Joslin Smith, has begged her sibling to tell her where the missing girl is.
Mickeyla Daniels, who is a police constable, made the plea via a TikTok Live this week.
Last Friday, Western Cape High Court judge Nathan Erasmus claimed that Kelly was the “mastermind” behind the disappearance of her daughter. The Saldanha Bay woman is accused of selling her child to fuel her drug habit.
KELLY SMITH’S SISTER BEGS FOR LOCATION OF JOSLIN SMITH
In her TikTok Live, Mickeyla Daniels – who testified during the trial – called for Kelly Smith to reveal where Joslin Smith was.
Mickeyla and Kelly share the same mother, but have different fathers.
She said, “We are angry and hurt…. I have forgiven her. But that doesn’t mean what she has done is right. I hope and pray that her heart will help her be honest and tell us where Joslin is. The family and the rest of the world want to know what happened and where Joslin is.”
Last year, the police constable told Minister Gayton McKenzie in a Facebook Live that Kelly had hinted that she had hidden her child during a community search.
Kelly reportedly told her via a phone call: “My child is in the squatter camp. Someone wanted to buy her, but Saldanha is ‘too heated’”.

Mickeyla also claimed that her family had “forgiven” Kelly for the act.
She continued: “I say every day on social media that humans are human, no one is perfect. But I never thought that my sister was capable of such a thing.
“[My court testimony] was not for me or anybody, but only for Joslin. One can’t make the wrong choices and think there are no consequences”.
‘DOESN’T DESERVE TO BE A MOM’
In March, Kelly Smith’s younger brother, Zhandrew Daniels, condemned her for allegedly selling Joslin Smith.
In a since-deleted Facebook post, he said, “Don’t say we didn’t try or that we don’t care. My family and I grew up under my parents’ care. We were taught discipline, good manners, kindness, and respect for others. We would never engage in such horrible actions.”
“Please don’t judge us without knowing the full story.”
Zhandrew added that the family currently had custody of Kelly Smith’s eldest child, a son. However, they were “deeply hurt” by Joslin’s disappearance.
He added: “It still hurts me to this day. What Kelly did to her [Joslin] is horrific. She does not deserve to be called a mother. However, I ask that you not judge me or my family for Kelly’s actions”.
DO YOU THINK KELLY SMITH’S FAMILY SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR JOSLIN’S DISAPPEARANCE?
