Kaizer Chiefs target Feisal Salum has reportedly decided not to extend his contract with his current club Azam FC.
The 26-year-old talented Tanzanian midfielder has worked with Amakhosicoach Nasreddine Nabi during his time at Young Africans. This season, Salum has scored four goals this season and provided nine assists for Azam FC.
His breakout season saw him bang in goals after the club shifted him to a more advanced role. Given how he is able to play different midfield roles, Salum can be an asset for Kaizer Chiefs. His goalscoring abilities have made him one of the most sought-after midfielders in the continent.
With Salum set to leave, Azam has reportedly tabled a new contract offer that includes a signing-on fee of $320,000 (R6.6 million) and a monthly salary of $12,000 (R223,315). According to Afrik-Footsource, the 26-year-old wants to explore new opportunities.
“Feisal Salum has made his decision and informed the club that he will not extend his contract,” the source told the publication.
Kaizer Chiefs might finally sign Salum
“He is enjoying his experience at Azam, a big club, but he wants to explore new opportunities at the end of the season. A move to Kaizer Chiefs? It is still too early to say for sure, but it is a very serious possibility,” a source on Salum moving to Naturena.
Amakhosi have already brought in three new players in the January transfer. Nabi has made it clear that the club will once again sign more players in the next transfer window.
Should Amakhosi sign Salum or bring in Tulani Serero?
