Kaizer Chiefs are finding themselves in a prime position to sign Asanele Velebayi from Cape Town Spurs.
STELLENBOSCH FC TO PASS ON ASANELE VELEBAYI?
Cape Town Spurs are set to be relegated to South Africa’s third division after finishing 15th in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The club’s talented youngsters, including the 22-year-old Kaizer Chiefs target Asanele Velebayi, have duly attracted interest.
Western Cape giants, Stellenbosch FC, who have signed the likes of Ashley Cupido, Chumani Butsaka, Siviwe Nkwali and Faiz Abrahams from the same club, are reportedly keen on signing Luke Baartman.
But what about the club’s best talent Velebayi?
According to FARPost, Stellenbosch have a similar player to the Kaizer Chiefs target in Langelihle Phili.
“According to information obtained by FARPost, Stellenbosch FC is reportedly keen on securing Baartman’s services,” the outlet reported.
“Regarding Velebayi, sources indicate that Stellies believe they already possess a player with a similar profile in Langelihle Phili,” the report added.
