Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly keen on signing a midfield specialist so unique that Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns don’t have this type of breed.
KAIZER CHIEFS INTEREST IN SIHLE NDULI FROM STELLENBOSCH FC
The first report was back in November. Kaizer Chiefs reportedly showed interested in a rather unique central midfielder to what they have. The 29-year-old Nduli is different from your typical defensive midfielder. He does not play with power, physicality and energy. Instead, Nduli is all about intelligence to visualise spaces, read the game, make decisions and execute passes with smooth elegance. Sounds like Andrea Pirlo and Rodri? Of course.
According to Soccer Laduma first report last month, Kaizer Chiefs were keen to land his signature after 47 games for Stellenbosch in the past two seasons.
“The interest in Nduli has been there for some time but maybe it was not in the open because there were other players at the same club that Chiefs were looking at as they didn’t want to mix things up,” the source said.
“But now, since it’s believed that they could not get those other players then they are looking at how to work with Stellenbosch FC and see if they can get Nduli. The thing is that they are looking at if they don’t keep Njabulo Blom and Sibongiseni Mthethwa then they will need a defensive midfielder like Sihle (Nduli) and that’s why they are considering him for the future.
“It’s not like there are talks going on yet after the recommendation from their scouts and recruiters. So, we have to wait first for Chiefs to make the official approach to Stellies and if there are talks then those talks will determine whether they agree on a deal or not. But the interest from Chiefs is there,” a second source added on the Amakhosi prospect.
NEW UPDATE
According to the latest report, Kaizer Chiefs tabled R4 million before Stellenbosch said R7 million or nothing.
