Springbok Edwill van der Merwe is believed to be leaving the Lions in favour of a move to the Sale Sharks next season.
Sale Sharks are reportedly not done raiding the Lions’ den, with a Springbok hot-stepper in their sights to join Marius Louw at the English Premiership outfit next season.
According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, the Manchester-based English Premiership side have tabled a lucrative offer to the Springbok speedster, who has also drawn interest from the Durban-based Sharks.
But while 28-year-old is weighing up his both external options, he is also believed to be considering staying at the Lions, who are keen to keep him on their books.
Van der Merwe joined the Lions in 2021 after he was deemed surplus to requirements at the Stormers.
It was at Ellis Park where rediscovered his form, which ultimately led to him earning a Springbok call-up. The winger went on to make his Test debut against Wales last year.
