Renowned media personality Somizi Mhlongo has expressed disappointment with a prominent South African Airline for failing to separate the quality of comfort in a business class suite from that of economy class.
The former Idols SA judge recently took to his Instagram page highlighting that he fails to see the difference between the respective categories with the seating quality being the key point of emphasis. In his rant, he requested that the airline in question, South African Airways (SAA), enlighten him on the matter.
In his post frustrated post, the Sarafina actor shared a picture of the compartment he was in showing off the seating arrangements.
He wrote: “So this is business class. Seats are same size as in economy class. But double the price. Please make it make sense my dearest @flysaa coz I really want to support you.”
While the airline has not yet responded to Somizi’s request for comment, sports presenter and radio host Andile Ncube aimed to shed light on the situation highlighting that he has experienced a similar incident.
Explaining the pros of how business class works he wrote: “Fell for this once. They leave the middle seat open, so you don’t have to share with two other people but just one. They also allow you to enter the plane first and get off first.”
“I would assume that when you fly local, business class seats have always been like that in all the domestic airlines. Only when you do long flights then business class seats are different,” highlighted another user.
Meanwhile, there were some who felt that Somizi’s rant was unnecessary.
