Sizwe Dhlomo rejects Lasizwe’s invite to ‘Awkward Date’ show

Sizwe Dhlomo recently stirred reactions online after declining an invitation to appear on Awkward Dates, Lasizwe Dambuza’s popular YouTube show.

The exchange began after a fan mentioned how great it would be to see Sizwe on the show, prompting Lasizwe to make the invitation official.

In his usual straightforward manner, the Kaya FM radio host politely declined.

“I don’t do interviews,” he said, before adding words of encouragement: “Good show though. If ever I have something to promote one day, I’ll hit you up. Keep up the good work.”

Rather than just closing the door, Sizwe offered Lasizwe a different kind of opportunity, mentorship.

“Don’t bring cameras, but you can shadow me for a full week,” he tweeted.

“I’ll give you a breakdown of how to move in the game. That’s if you’ll find that kind of info useful. Your choice.”

The offer divided fans.

Some praised Sizwe for extending guidance instead of just saying no, calling it a valuable opportunity for growth.

Others, however, felt the gesture came across as dismissive or patronizing.

Despite the mixed reactions, Lasizwe continues to gain momentum with his show.

He recently shared exciting news that Zozibini Tunzi, former Miss South Africa and Miss Universe will be appearing in an upcoming episode.

She was one of several high-profile guests he had been hoping to land, alongside names like Bonang Matheba, Tyla, Uncle Waffles, and Thembinkosi Mthembu.
