Kaizer Chiefs’ existing goalkeepers Bruce Bvuma, Brandon Peterson and Fiacre Ntwari have failed to seize the opportunity. The trio has forced Amakhosi to look for better quality in the market.
SIX GOALKEEPERS FOR KAIZER CHIEFS
After a remarkable 24 goals conceded in 24 Betway Premiership matches, Amakhosi are expected to say goodbye to at least two goalkeepers before signing two replacements before August. It could be Bvuma, Peterson and Fiacre.
Meanwhile, here is a list of six goalkeepers Kaizer Chiefs have to look at:
DJIGUI DIARRA
The 30-year-old Malian is wonderfully experienced with multiple league titles with Tanzanian giants Young Africans. Diarra, with 61 caps for his nation, has previously worked with coach Nasreddine Nabi.
SAGE STEPHENS
The 34-year-old has over 200 Premier Soccer League games. A newly-capped Bafana Bafana international, Stephens is leading Stellenbosch FC in the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals.
TOASTER NSABATA
Another international for Kaizer Chiefs to consider, the 31-year-old Zambian, has big-club experience with Zesco and Zanaco in his homeland. Nsabata carries Betway Premiership experience during his spell with Sekhukhune United between 2021 and 2023.
STANLEY NWABALI
Still 28, the Chippa United star is currently Nigeria’s number-one goalkeeper. With Betway Premiership experience in the past two seasons, Nwabali would make an immediate impact at Kaizer Chiefs.
RENALDO LEANER
The 28-year-old Sekhukhune United star made his name in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals last month. Leaner delivered a superstar performance with eight saves before Mamelodi Sundowns managed to grab an extra-time winner.
DARREN JOHNSON
The 27-year-old is currently keeping Nwabali on his toes at Chippa. Johnson would be content with the number two status at Kaizer Chiefs next season. A top talent with a bright future.
