Sead Ramovic takes over coaching job at Young Africans SC

Former TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has taken over the coaching job at Young Africans SC a few days after parting ways with the Betway Premiership side.

Ramovic is taking over thebhot seat at Yanga after the sacking of Miguel Gamondi who lost two matches in the Tanzanian league. Yanga are currently sitting second on the league table behind, Simba SC who are occupying the top spot with 25 points.

In a bid to compete for all trophies on offer, Yanga brought in Ramovic who proved his qualities as the coach of the Rockets.

The German-born tactician spent three seasons at Galaxy after joining the club in 2021 on a three-year-contract.

Ramovic who is the UEFA Pro License holder turned Galaxy into one of the exciting teams to watch in South Africa with his high intensity football.

The 2023/24 season was Ramovic’s best season at Galaxy after guiding the club to the top six finish in the league. TS Galaxy collected 44 points after they won 12 league matches, drew eight and lost 10 times in 30 matches.

Meanwhile, the 45-year-old also came close to winning a domestic trophy last season after losing in the final of the Carling Knockout Cup against Stellenbosch FC.

Following Galaxy’s challenging start to the new season, Ramovic opted to step down as the club’s head coach.

The 2019 Nedbank Cup champions are yet to register a victory in six matches in the league since the start of the 2024/25 campaign. They lost four matches and drew twice to collect two points.

Galaxy also crashed out of the 2024 Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final after suffering 1-0 defeat against Magesi FC at Mbombela Stadium a fortnight ago.
