The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the SASSA grant payment dates for March. SASSA pays social grants to elderly people, children (under 18), disabled people, and the war veterans’ grant. Here’s a breakdown of the payment dates for each beneficiary.
SASSA PAYMENT DATES
These are the SASSA payment dates for each beneficiary:
- Older person’s grant- TUESDAY, 4 March 2025
- Disability grant- WEDNESDAY, 5 March 2025
- Children’s grant- THURSDAY, 6 March 2025
SASSA GOLD CARD TO BE DISCONTINUED
SASSA has announced that it is transitioning from using the gold card to the new Postbank black card. Beneficiaries are urged to apply before the 20 March 2025 deadline.
Postbank has added a few more areas in KZN where you can apply for your Postbank Black card. These are the areas added:

NORTHERN CAPE TO HOST POSTBANK BLACK CARD OUTREACH
SASSA will host an outreach on Saturday, 01 March 2025, at Pick n Pay, Galeshewe Circle in the Northern Cape. The outreach will assist beneficiaries in replacing their SASSA Gold Cards with the new Postbank Black Cards.
The outreach will start at 9:00 and beneficiaries are reminded to bring their Identity Documents (I.D).Â

DON’T WANT TO RECEIVE PAYMENT THROUGH POSTBANK BLACK CARD? THERE’S ANOTHER OPTION
If you don’t want to receive your grant through the Postbank black card, you can opt to receive your grant using your bank account. All you need to do is to visit your nearest SASSA office with the following documents:
- Proof of Bank Account
- Three months bank statement
- Proof of Identity Document (I.D)
