Despite missing out on a World Rugby award last year, Springbok’s Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu bagged another top title – SA Rugby’s Young Player of The Year.
The 23-year-old beat the likes of players Cameron Hanekom, Jordan Hendrikse, Quan Horn, and Henco van Wyk.
SACHA FEINBERG-MNGOMZEULU BAGS SA RUGBY AWARD!
On Thursday, 13 March, the SA Rugby Awards took place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu was one of the many deserving winners in the category of Young Player of The Year.
The 23-year-old posted pictures of his “special night” on Instagram, including snaps with veteran players like Eben Etzebeth and Springbok captain Siya Kolisi.
The flyhalf thanked his teammates for their support and nurturing since making his debut in the national team last year. Despite being plagued with several injuries in recent months, Sacha was optimistic that his future would be just as memorable.
He told SuperSport: “With the squad, support staff, and coaches, it makes life a lot easier for someone like me to maintain and do the same and better this year.
“If I’m blessed to be with the same hard-working individuals, it won’t be too hard.”
When asked what his favourite rugby moment to date was, Sacha responded: “Beating the All Blacks at Emirates Airline.”
Sacha is referring to the Bok’s 31-27 victory against their biggest rugby rivals in August last year.
He added: “The whole crowd was with us. We were down by 10 points with 13 minutes to go. It was a true test of character. That was one for the history books”.

Meanwhile, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s father, Nick Feinberg, was no doubt beaming with pride over his son’s SA Rugby award.
The radio personality -who is an avid sports enthusiast – retweeted tweets congratulating his son on his achievement.
Nick also congratulated fellow Spring Cheslin Kolbe, who hot-stepped his way to winning the SA Rugby Men’s Player of the Year. The pint-sized star beat the likes of his national teammates like Damian De Allende, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Eben Etzebeth, and Ox Nche.
