Sabrina Carpenter, the Grammy-winning pop sensation, has just announced her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend. The album is set for release on 29 August.
This exciting news came during an Instagram Live session where Carpenter shared a glimpse of the album cover.
SABRINA CARPENTER ON MUSIC INSPIRATIONS
The singer also chatted about her musical inspirations, ranging from Donna Summer to ABBA and Dolly Parton.
The album cover is already stirring conversation. It shows Carpenter on all fours, dressed in a sleek black mini dress and heels, while a man in black trousers holds a handful of her blonde curls.
The image is bold and playful, perfectly matching the cheeky title Man’s Best Friend. This is a clever twist on the phrase, hinting at themes of loyalty, love, and perhaps a bit of mischief, according to Pitchfork.
Leading the charge for the new album is the single Manchild. This is a twangy synth-pop track co-written with frequent collaborators Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen.
SABRINA CARPENTER’S ‘MANCHILD’
Released last week, the song quickly soared to No. 1 on both the U.S. and global Spotify charts.
Carpenter describes Manchildas “the embodiment of a loving eye roll” and “a never-ending road trip in the summer.”
The song is meant to capture the confusing and fun moments of young adulthood.
She added, “I wanted to give it to you now — so you can stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long!”.
MAN’S BEST FRIEND
Man’s Best Friend follows the massive success of Carpenter’s 2024 album Short n’ Sweet. This album sold over 10 million copies worldwide and earned her six Grammy nominations.
Sabrina Carpenter took home two awards for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance for the hit Espresso.
The new album promises to build on that momentum, showcasing Carpenter’s growth as an artist while keeping her signature pop charm.
SHORT N’ SWEET TOUR
Carpenter is also gearing up for another leg of her Short n’ Sweet tour this autumn, with stops in major North American cities.
While no South African dates have been announced yet, her growing international profile suggests a possible visit someday.
In Sabrina Carpenter’s own words: “Man’s Best Friend is something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life.”
Fans can pre-order Man’s Best Friend now and dive into Sabrina Carpenter’s latest pop adventure come late August.
