Mamelodi Sundowns are 90 minutes away from a CAF Champions League final against Orlando Pirates or Pyramids FC.

AL AHLY VS MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

It is time for the second-leg clash after the first tie ended 0-0 in Tshwane last weekend. According to the national broadcaster, tonight’s clash will be aired live on SABC 3 at 18:00 this evening.

SILENCE AL AHLY FANS

Sundowns’ experienced men such as Grant Kekana, Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, Aubrey Modiba, and Peter Shalulile are expected to rise to the occasion as Kabo Yellow battle Al Ahly in the CAFCL semifinals second leg in Cairo.

Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso, formerly with Esperance in Tunisia, is expecting a hostile atmosphere in Cairo this evening but believes in his team’s ability to handle the pressure.

“It’s a pleasure to play in stadiums like this. Playing in Tshwane, here, Tunisia and Morocco with a lot of people, that’s what we like to live. I played here last year [with Esperance in the final] and the stadium was full and we enjoyed it. We feel stronger and let’s hope we can silence the crowd who will be booing us. It means we will be doing well,” the Sundowns mentor told the media in the pre-match conference.

“We know what type of game we are playing, we know what type of opponent we are facing and we are also aware of what type of game they are playing.

“But strategically, as everybody saw, for example, in our first match, the team had a completely different approach because that’s where we were at that moment.

“We are playing in the semifinal and the teams are playing for a result,” the Sundowns trainer added.

“Teams need to manage the moment and how to approach strategically the matches, and we will wait to see what type of Al Ahly we will have,” Cardoso concluded.

The game will kick off at 18:00 at the Cairo International Stadium.
