Seasoned broadcaster Ba2cada, born Nyakallo Liene, is making headlines after it was reported that he had been barred from Lesedi FM studios in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.

Reports have it that the station sidelined him after he went AWOL (absent without leave).

LESEDI FM HOST BA2CADA GOES AWOL

Sunday World reports that Ba2cada didn’t show up during his slots on 30 and 31 December, which affected the station.

Rumour mill has it that no one was aware of his absence, and the bosses only noticed it after Thabo ‘Bundle of Joy’ Mokone presented alone without Ba2cada.

“Ba2Cada was supposed to have been on duty on 30 and 31 December, but he never showed up to do the show…

“In that sense, nobody from the management knew that Ba2Cada was not present on those two days until they heard Thabo doing the show alone,” an insider revealed to Sunday World.

Sunday Worlds reports that Ba2cada went on to apply for a leave from 1 to 20 January. Upon returning, he was allegedly told not to report for work.

Rumour mill has it that he was told there were pertinent issues the management wanted to discuss with him.

“The programme manager, Mannini Nyokong, told Ba2Cada that he should not go on air on January 20, saying he was not scheduled to work,” Sunday Worldnoted.

However, the celebrated on-air host has yet to address the rumours that have seen him making headlines.

SABC SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT: ‘MR NYAKALLO LEINE IS CONTRACTED’

On the other hand, the media has since established that Ba2Cada is still with the station despite being off-air.

However, the national broadcaster’s Radio Head of Communications, Mmoni Ngubane, has addressed the rumours after popular blogger Phil Mphela reached out.

Mmoni Ngubane said, “Lesedi FM management can confirm that Mr Nyakallo Leine is contracted by Lesedi FM, and as such, he has an employment relationship with the station. In this regard, we will not discuss employer/ employee related matters in the public space.”

Surprisingly, they did not address rumours that he was fired or banned from Lesedi FM, as alleged by the tabloids.

Fans have since flooded social media with their two cents. An X user commented, ‘”SABC, we want Ba2cada back on the radio, not explanations.”

Another user added, “Lesesi Fm is nothing without Ba2cada.”
