ROSIE MOTENE SLAMS CHRIS BROWN CONCERT
In an Instagram post, Rosie Motense shared an image of a bruised and battered Rihanna. The picture dates back to 2009 when Chris Brown was arrested for his brutal attack on his then-girlfriend.
Although the incident took place 15 years ago, the singer has repeatedly made headlines over his angry outbursts, physical violence, and even allegations of sexual assault.
According to his ex, Karrueche Tran who filed a restraining order against him, Chris also threatened to kill her in several graphic texts.
In the Instagram caption, Rosie thanked anti-GBV NGO Women For Change for kickstarting a petition to cancel Chris Brown’s shows, based on his history of violence.
She posted, “Respect to all who see and understand the glaring issues that we face in our country and who understand the intersectional approaches that are needed to bring an end to GBV.
She added: “We have a long way to go…”
SURVIVING GBV
Sadly, Rosie Motene is one of many South African women who have experienced GBV.
According to Sunday World, the actress admitted to enduring sexual abuse whilst in university. She also alleges a prominent film director sexually harassed her.
She told the publication: “I came out about my abuse nine years after the incident happened.
“Why I came out and joined Powa was to understand why for many years, I blamed myself.”
She added: “I came from a very privileged background, and I went to private schools – but I wasn’t educated on the fundamental principles of abuse.”
