Rapper Reason defends his alleged girlfriend Gigi Lamayne in a recent interview
Rapper Reason, now known as Sizwe Alakine, did not hold back when he confronted podcast host Thakgi over remarks about his relationship with Gigi Lamayne.
During a recent appearance on Thakgi’s podcast, Reason lost his cool after the host suggested that dating Gigi was a downgrade compared to his baby mama, Lootlove.
The heated exchange comes just days after Reason and Gigi seemingly confirmed their relationship, putting months of speculation to rest.
A video of the fiery moment made rounds on social media after it was shared by MDNNews on X, with the caption: “Sizwe Alakine is furious after Thakgi claimed he downgraded by being with Gigi Lamayne, comparing her to his baby mama, Lootlove.”
In the clip, Reason didn’t mince his words as he slammed Thakgi for making comparisons that he believed pushed negative beauty standards.
“What downgrade? What gives you the right to sit down and discuss another man’s relationship? What are you teaching these kids here? That oh yeah, if you’re a girl that looks like Gigi in the public perception, you’re a downgrade compared to a girl that looks like Luthando in the public perception?” he fired back.
Thakgi, however, stood his ground and attempted to justify his statement, insisting that his remarks were based on public perception.
“It was in comparison with what’s in the media and what we’ve seen,” he argued. But Reason wasn’t having it.
His frustration only grew as he shut down Thakgi’s explanation, making it clear that he wasn’t there for a debate.
“You’re trying to justify ish that has no basis. I didn’t come here to have a conversation. I came here to rectify you,” he declared.
