As reported extensively by The South African website, Scott, now 61, was diagnosed with melanoma, an aggressive kind of skin cancer, almost 40 years ago.
Recently doctors discovered new tumours, and he spent a large part of the few months in hospital during his difficult battle with cancer.
Sadly, he lost his brave battle with the disease on Tusday.
He is survived by his sons, Mark and Matthew.
