Businesswoman and media personality Rachel Kolisi recently parted ways with the Kolisi Foundation.

Now, it has come to light that the separation was not as amicable as first portrayed.

The Justice Desk, an anti-GBV NGO, shared the news on social media.

In papers filed to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), it was allegedly noted that Rachel had been the subject of a constructive dismissal, the Daily Maverick reported.

The publication further stated that the complaint was lodged on 25 March, a few weeks after Rachel and the foundation announced her departure as CEO.

The publication further stated that the papers summarise the facts of the dispute as follows: “The applicant resigned because the employer acted unfairly and made continued employment intolerable.”

In response to the question, “Was [the] dismissal procedure unfair?”, the form records “Yes.”

The Kolisi Foundation was founded by Siya Kolisi and Rachel in 2019. The foundation aims to change the stories of inequality in South Africa and see communities thrive in their own right by creating safe spaces through sport and education, addressing gender-based violence (GBV), and contributing to food security.

On 22 October 2024, the Kolisis shocked the nation when they released a joint statement announcing their divorce.

The couple stated that the decision was made with love, respect, and understanding, emphasizing their commitment to co-parenting their children amicably.

Since then, both have continued their work for the foundation and their charities.

They regularly share posts about their work, separate endeavours, and pictures and videos with their children and Siya’s two half-siblings, Liphelo and Liyema, whom they adopted.
