Prince William and Princess Kate are marking their 14th wedding anniversary with a trip to Scotland, where their love story first began.

PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE IN SCOTLAND

The couple, who initially met at the University of St Andrews in 2001, will spend two days on the Isle of Mull, off Scotland’s west coast.

Their visit aims to “highlight the importance of protecting and championing the natural environment,” and will include a stop in Tobermory.

Their Scottish connection runs deep. It was at St Andrews that Kate, then studying art history, caught William’s eye, according to Daily Mail.

HOW PRINCE WILLIAM MET KATE

William was captivated by Kate at a charity fashion show. He reportedly paid for a front-row seat to watch her stride down the catwalk in a sheer dress.

“It just sort of blossomed from there, really,” William said during their engagement interview, reflecting on their early days.

During their visit to Mull, William and Kate will announce a new community project through their Royal Foundation.

The project will partner with local community spaces to support residents and provide opportunities for them to connect and participate in activities.

They will also visit a local market, meeting producers and sampling the area’s offerings.

Additionally, the couple plans to visit a croft and restaurant, where they will meet Hebridean sheep farmers and select fresh produce.

THE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

This anniversary is particularly poignant. William has described 2024 as “the hardest year of my life,” due to both Kate’s cancer diagnosis and his father, King Charles‘s, own health challenges.

In March 2025, Kate shared a deeply personal video message revealing her diagnosis.

“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance,” she said, also expressing gratitude for the support she has received.

LOVE AND BE LOVED

After completing her preventative chemotherapy in September 2024, Kate reflected on the importance of “simply loving and being loved.”

This anniversary serves as a reminder of their strength. Their commitment to each other and their duties remain unwavering. They continue to inspire and connect with people.
