Popular Lesedi FM host Nyakello ‘Ba2cada’ Leine is set to return to the air following his fallout with the station’s management last month.

BA2CADA SET TO RETURN TO LESEDI FM

According to Sunday WorldSABC radio general manager Siphelele Sixaso, programme manager Mannini Nyokong was instructed to bring Ba2cada back online.

However, sources close to Sunday Worldhave it that the order was protested, with the programme’s manager standing his ground on Ba2cada’s suspension.

“On Wednesday, Siphelele told Mannini that she should swallow her pride and bring back Ba2cada on air and that on Monday, he should be at work,” said an insider at Lesedi FM in Bloemfontein.

Against the news, the public broadcaster has yet to address the reports that have since flooded online.

Earlier this month, seasoned broadcaster Ba2cada was barred from Lesedi FM studios in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, after going AWOL last year.

The publication established that Ba2cada was barred from the studios after he didn’t show up during his slots on 30 and 31 December, which affected the station.

Rumour mill has it that no one was aware of his absence, and the bosses only noticed it after Thabo ‘Bundle of Joy’ Mokone presented alone without Ba2cada.

After missing his slots, he applied for leave from 1 to 20 January. Upon returning, he was allegedly told not to report for work.

Rumour mill has it that he was told there were pertinent issues the management wanted to discuss with him.

“The programme manager, Mannini Nyokong, told Ba2Cada that he should not go on air on January 20, saying he was not scheduled to work,” Sunday Worldnoted.

However, the celebrated on-air host has yet to address the rumours that have seen him making headlines.

SABC SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT: ‘MR NYAKALLO LEINE IS CONTRACTED’

A few weeks ago, the national broadcaster’s Radio Head of Communications, Mmoni Ngubane, addressed the rumours after popular blogger Phil Mphela reached out.

Mmoni Ngubane said, “Lesedi FM management can confirm that Mr Nyakallo Leine is contracted by Lesedi FM, and as such, he has an employment relationship with the station. In this regard, we will not discuss employer/employee-related matters in the public space.”

Surprisingly, they did not address rumours that he was fired or banned from Lesedi FM, as alleged by the tabloids.
