ActionSA’s Dr Nasiphi Moya is likely to be elected as the new mayor of Tshwane, after the ANC, Economic Freedom Fighters and other parties represented in council resolved to back her.
Moya has been acting as mayor since the Democratic Alliance’s Cilliers Brink was ousted via a no-confidence motion in late September. She was deputy mayor under Brink.
ANC and EFF together have 98 seats out of the Tshwane council’s total of 214, but with the ActionSA’s 19 seats, Moya is a shoo-in to become the city’s sixth mayor since 2016.
Do you think ‘mayor’ Nasiphi Moya will be a good fit for City of Tshwane?
