Kaizer Chiefs made a few changes to their playing roster in the January transfer window, with both incomings and outgoings.

Chiefs signed three players while also seeing two players exit the club on loan for the rest of the season.

Three in and two out at Chiefs in January

Christian Saile saw his loan move to SuperSport United confirmed. The DRC winger even went on to score on his debut for the club. In exchange, Chiefs had been given the services of striker Tashreeq Morris on a permanent deal. The other player that left Amakhosi on deadline day is Mduduzi Mdantsane. The playmaker has joined Richard’s Bay FC on loan until the end of the season the club confirmed last month.

Mdantsane joined Chiefs from Cape Town City just last season, in a move that excited many Amakhosi fans. But since joining the club he’d fallen on difficult times. Disciplinary issues and injuries limited his impact at the Naturena-based and he was eventually loaned out. Now speaking to Ukhozi FM as per KickOff.com, the playmaker details the reason he decided to leave.

“Not everything will happen the way you wish, some things happen unexpectedly. I’m a professional player, I understand the situation. I can gave the supporters all I have, but the situation they are in there is pressure. I want to regain my energy so when I come back, I come back with energy. I come from a very difficult situation. They (Chiefs) wouldn’t risk and put me on under the pressure they are in already. So, it’s important that I go to start afresh and uplift my level. That’s the agreement.” Said Mdantsane.

Chiefs currently have Mduduzi Shabalala, Gaston Sirino, George Matlou and Mfundo Vilakazias playmaker options. Therefore, it remains to be seen if a 30-year-old Mdantsane will be welcomed back. He has also just made the two substitute appearances for Richards Bay since joining the club.
