Orlando Pirateslegend Thabo Mngomenihas backed Pitso Mosimaneto join the Buccaneers as head coach.
The Buccaneers recently parted ways with Jose Riveiro after three years. The Spaniard opted not to renew his contract and instead joined Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Mngomeni, who played for Orlando Pirates between 1998 and 2002, said Pitso Mosimane was the right coach to replace Riveiro.
“I was happy when they were saying Pitso was coming,” said the former Bafana Bafana midfielder as per iDiski Times,
“I was really happy. I think he could do something or carry on what Riveiro started. Definitely, Pitso has got the capability of doing that, sure, definitely,” he added.
Orlando Pirates legend wants Pitso to work alongside Mandla Ncikazi
With Ncikazi having been at Pirates for half a decade, Mngomeni feels the former Golden Arrows could help Mosimane.
“And what about Mandla [Ncikazi]? He has been there with Riveiro. Mandla has identified how Riveiro was doing his things.”
“I’m not saying if they put him in, he should do it that way, but he can see where they have improved. He can see where they need to improve. He should also be there, part of the team,” he concluded.
Pitso Mosimane has been a free agent since leaving Iran earlier this year and is one of the favourites for the Orlando Pirates coaching job.
