Orlando Piratesstar Relebohile Mofokeng was awarded following another brilliant performance in Bucs colours.

The Sea Robbers defeated TS Galaxy 2-0 at the Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening to extent their Betway Premiership lead. Thalente Mbatha and Mofokeng netted in each half to give Pirates all the three points away from home.

The Buccaneers dominated in the early stages and a breakthrough came through Mbatha who produced a spectacular effort from range to make it 1-0. Spurred on by the opener, Jose Riveiro‘s men launched a few more efforts from a long way out. Mohau Nkota and Deon Hotto failed to find the target while Mbatha was denied a brace thanks to an excellent save by Galaxy keeper.

Rele Mofokeng scores again for Pirates

Pirates looked to close off the game in the second half and It took another moment of magic for that to happen. Relebohile Mofokeng did well to turn possession over deep inside the Rockets half before finding the top corner with a superb effort that evaded the keeper.

The win puts Orlando Pirates six points clear of Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership. The Brazilians are in action on Wednesday against Cape Town City.

Mofokeng has been one of Pirates’ standout players this season having scored six goals already across all competitions. He has also provided three assists making him an asset for Jose Riveiro. After his goal, one Bucs supporter was seen handing the 20-year-old money from the stands. Since making his debut two seasons ago, Mofokeng has been a fan favourite at Pirates.
