Kaizer Chiefs are looking to strengthen their squad this window with a reported target pictured in the country!
It’s no secret that Chiefs are looking to add more experience and players of a high calibre to their squad.
Chiefs looking to bolster their midfield
One of the areas they are clearly looking to strengthen seems to be their midfield. Chiefs have seen names like Thabo Cele, Feisal Salum, Luke Le Roux and Sihle Nduli mentioned as targets. It was also suggested that Amakhosi had seen a bid rejected in their efforts to land Nduli from Stellenbosch FC.Furthermore, another link emerged recently in the form of Benin international Hassane Imourane. The deep-lying playmaker is also thought to be a target of Zamalek in Egypt.Â
It then becomes apparent that Nabi is looking to strengthen the middle of the park for his side. He currently has captain Yusuf Maart, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Samkelo Zwane and an unfit Njabulo Blomto contend with. He unfortunately lost the services Venezuelan international Edson Castillo to a long-term injury. Another option in George Matlou has not featured in any match day squad thus far. Now one name on that list above that has been linked with Chiefs the most is Cele.Â
Cele a long-term target
Cele has been linked with a transfer to Chiefs every transfer window since 2021. The player himself admits to being offered to the club only to be turned down by the coach at the time. He also was not shy in professing his love for the club. The Bafana Bafana midfielder admits he grew up supporting the Glamour Boys and would love to come back and play for them one day.Â
After recent reports from this website that Chiefs could offer a homesick Cele a way back, he has been spotted. This according to a football fan on X, who posted a picture of the midfielder seemingly back in KwaZulu-Natal playing at a Kasi tournament. Take a look!
