Orlando Pirates have reportedly ended their pursuit of Stellenbosch FC midfielder Jayden Adams.
The Buccaneers and Mamelodi Sundowns were set for a thrilling transfer duel for the Bafana Bafana man, who Stellenbosch want top dollar for.
However, the latest reports suggest the Buccaneers are not willing to get into a bidding war with their rivals and in fact have already moved on to ‘plan B’.
The club are now set on signing former Chippa United and Bloemfontein Celtic star Siphelele Luthuli.
Orlando Pirates switch attention to Luthuli
Luthuli has reportedly passed a trial at the Buccaneers after impressing head coach Jose Riveiro.
The attacking midfielder will undoubtedly add some much needed creativity to the side, something Pirates have been lacking in the recent past.
In other related news, the imminent arrival of Thabang Matuludi spells bad news for a certain Orlando Pirates defender.
The Buccaneers are closing in on the star Polokwane City right-back’s signature.
Jose Riveiro already has Deono Van Rooyen, Bandile Shandu and Thabiso Monyane at his disposal.
And now, according to reports, the imminent arrival of Matuludi could mean bad news for Bandile Shandu.
Shandu set for Orlando Pirates exit
“For now they want to loan him out since his contract is only expiring in June 2026,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
“So with that in mind, they want him to go on loan and make the final decision at the end of the season. But after releasing Sandile Mthethwa and loaning out Katlego Otladisa there are few more movements still expected at the club.”
In other news, Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng is also reportedly attracting serious interest from Spanish giants Barcelona FC!
Does Shandu deserve one last chance to shine?
