Orlando Pirates are set to loan out attacking midfielder Karim Kimvuidi in the coming weeks.
The 22-year-old Congolese attacker has made only two appearances for the Buccaneersthis season in the league. Despite showing much promise in his debut season, when he netted two goals, Kimvuidi has not gotten a chance this year, with the likes of Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng showing good form.
According to Soccer Laduma, Orlando Pirates want to give the attacker some minutes hence they are sending him out on loan.
“It’s like this because they don’t want him to just sit on the bench or in stands for a long time,” a source told the publication.
“He is still young and he needs to keep on playing and a loan move would give him that chance. No, I can’t say there is a team but Pirates want to loan him out so that he gets more game-time.
Orlando Pirates to loan Kimvuidi
“At the moment, they wouldn’t want to sell him permanently. It’s just to give him more game-time. He has one and half years still on his contract and they can’t just let him go like that. After all, you should know that he is still young and he has a great future ahead of him and that’s why they invested in and the loan move would help him grow as a player.”
Orlando Pirates are in action this weekend against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League. Having already qualified for the quarter-finals, the Buccaneers need just a draw to finish top of the log.
