Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro will take charge of the All Stars side when they take Magesi FC.
The two sides will clash after Magesi beat Mamelodi Sundownsin a shock win in the Carling Knockout Cup.
Riveiro incharge of All Stars
The once off game gives an opportunity to some fan favourites from different clubs to play together. This is where you get to see darlings of Kaizer Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns on the same team, outside a national team set up. For instance the current side will see Mfundo Vilakaziteam up with his friend Relebohile Mofokeng. There is also another opportunity to see Patrick Maswanganyiteam up with Thembinkosi Lorch.
More so, it also provides a platform for young promising stars to showcase their talents alongside their heroes. This through its rule which requires a certain number of DStv Diski Challenge players to start the match. One of those players that will be hoping to grab that opportunity with both hands is Mbekezeli Mbokazi. The left footed centre back is part of the Pirates DDC side and has trained with the senior team several times.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Riveiro waxed lyrical about the young Mbokazi. He also hinted the game could be his audition to get into the Pirates first team.
Mbokazi up next Pirates at Pirates?
“An interesting prospect. He (Mbokazi) is a difficult player to find, there are not many left-footed centre-backs. Strong, competitive, good character. He is willing to learn, a coachable player so far. Like for everybody else on Saturday, this is an opportunity to confirm what I’m saying or to prove me wrong maybe, let’s see. I don’t really like to talk so much about individuals, as you know, but I’m doing an exception again. He will show the player that he is on Saturday, for sure,” said Riveiro as per kickoff.com.
