Orlando Piratescould be without their key player for their crucial clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday afternoon at the Loftus Versfeld.
Thabiso Sesaneis a worry for the Buccaneers ahead of their trip across the Jukskei River. The 24-year-old only lasted 18 minutes in the victory over Sekhukhune United and could sit out the trip to Loftus.
The experienced Tapelo Xoki – brought on in his place in midweek – is among the likely options along with club captain Innocent Maela. Also waiting in the wings is Olisa Ndah who is making his way back to match-fitness, having resumed training.
Having been a key player for Orlando Pirates this season, Sesane’s absence could affect the Bucs defence against an inform Downs. The young defender has played all the league matches so far this campaign.
Orlando Pirates to be without key player
Other than Sesane, it appears that the Buccaneers have a healthy squad coming into the Downs clash. One of the key stars for Pirates is Deon Hotto. Ever present in the Bucs lineup is the Namibian stalwart, who displayed his class and versatility once again with an impactful display in midweek. The 34-year-old has mainly started in defence but slots in effortlessly on the attack, and his goal and assist against Sekhukhune have propelled him to double figures in goal contributions this season.
Orlando Pirates might miss their key player in Sesane but they have more than enough talent to cover his position. The problem might be Sundowns’ dangerous attack which might fancy their chances on Xoki.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:30 and will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL and SABC 1.
