Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng is trending after his photos feeding cattle flooded online.
ORLANDO PIRATES STAR SALENG’S SURPRISING NEW VENTURE?
In one of the now-viral photos, he was spotted feeding the cows while wearing a green and brown work suit, which was complimented by a pair of safety shoes.
Thanks to his huge social media following, the photos have gained thousands of comments and reactions since they dropped online.
Fans were more than convinced that he had spread his wings to farming just like those before.
After all, little is known about when the photos were taken and whether Saleng is now into farming since he did not openly confirm the news.
No doubt, farming is one of the most lucrative business ventures in South Africa.
Despite its relatively small share of the total GDP, primary agriculture is an essential sector in South Africa, according to an Economic Review of South African Agriculture.
OTHER PLAYERS
With the rumoured business venture, he joins a host of PSL stars, including Andile Jali, who have invested in farming.
Last year, former Mamelodi Sundowns star Andile Jali set social media abuzz after he took to Instagram to show off his incredible farm.
He shared several photos while feeding a herd of cattle and showing off some of his sheep. His farm is reportedly located in Port Elizabeth.
Last year, Bongani Zungu topped trends by sharing photos of his Ankole herd.
Against the post, MDN Newsposted, “Bongani Zungu has discovered a new passion for livestock and decided to pursue a career in farming, trading in his jersey for overalls and his soccer ball for a tractor.”
MAKING HEADLINES
Despite being one of the best stars, Saleng has not played for Orlando Pirates since last November.
Saleng was last fielded in early November, coming off the bench against Richards Bay for the final fifteen minutes.
However, the club has it that his absence is due to ‘personal issues’, and no return date has been mentioned.
With his Orlando Pirates future in doubt, some reports suggest that his return is on the cards, while others have suggested that he might have had his last dance with the club.
