Orlando Pirates could see one of their younger more exciting players leave the club after just a season and-a-half.
Pirates have a plethora of young attackers at their disposal with two of them being key already to their season.
Pirates looking to loan out Kimvuidi
In the last couple of seasons the Pirates first team has seen two attacking talents come straight in. These being Relebohile Mofokeng and most recently Mohau Nkota, who have both come through the DDC structures. These players have not only impressed at the club, but have also caught the attention of clubs abroad. The emergence of theses to players, especially that of Nkota recently has come at a cost to some.
One of the players that has seen his game time reduce even more, is Karim Kimvuidi. More suited to the number 10 role, he’s had a lot of his football played on the wing at Pirates. He has struggled to get into the side in his preferred position because it is usually occupied by talisman Patrick Maswanganyi. If not him, then Kabelo Dlamini, who himself has a shout for a starting berth.
Now most recently, with Maswanganyi missing against Al Ahly, it was Mofokeng who was given the central berth. That seemed to show that opportunities will continue to be limited for Kimvuidi who is further down the pecking order. It was recently reported that Pirates were willing to let the DRC star go on loan.
Player wants to leave for a move abroad
Now according to Soccer-LadumaKimvuidi has informed Pirates of his desire to go abroad should he leave.
“Kimvuidi is one of those players one might say is unfortunate because despite being so talented he finds himself in an environment where he is competing with stars for a position, and it has been difficult for him to break into the team. He is a good player who can do very well at any other club but unfortunately, he is limited for game time where he is because of the competition. A change of environment is what he needs even if it means going out on loan. But from what I understand, he would like to consider one of the options abroad rather than joining a PSL club on loan although that’s unlikely to happen now in January,” said a source to the same publication.
Pirates fans would you be happy to see Kimvuidi leave to go abroad? Or is he needed by your club for squad depth until the end of the season?
