It’s been over four months since Orlando Pirates fans saw Monnapule Saleng in local threads following salary demands the Soweto giants refused to concur.
The 27-year-old, spotted in training for the first time this year, seems set for an offseason move as the club continue their reluctance. A Saleng sale would generate millions, but his stock price, after months on the sideline, has undoubtedly reduced.
Many feel the longer the saga continues, the higher the chances of an exit becomes.
Former players speaks
With Saleng in mind, former PSL winger Masibusane Zongo expressed the benefits of therapy, saying, “Therapy and people talking to you, I only got that when I got to Platinum Stars, they used to organise people to talk to us, some ex-players.
“I’d advise players from today that if they get a chance to get help, they should listen to those people, because they are talking from experience. Maybe when I was young, I would have been part of those players who don’t want to listen,” Zongo added.
“Most players don’t like to share, especially private and confidential things but I’d advise them to go and open up and talk, because once you bottle things inside, trust me those thing are going to kill you slowly but surely,” he concluded.
What should Orlando Pirates do about Saleng?
