Orlando Pirates ready to splash the cash on more signings

Orlando Pirates are ready to splash the cash on more signings for next season.

With Jose Riveiro leaving, he has left more than a gap in the dugout but also a question mark the departure of key players like Relebohile Mofokeng. At just 19 years old, Mofokeng has already stirred interest in Europe and North Africa but he has also captured the hearts of locals.Â

Now without the coach that fast tracked his development, he finds himself at a career defining moment. Should he stay and become the face of Orlando Pirates under an uncertain new leadership or chase the European dream in the next transfer window.

Stars on their way to the Bucs

So having said that, planning for exits becomes crucial as Orlando Pirates further try and reinforce their midfield area. Stellenbosch midfielder Sihle Nduli(29) is all but gone already, as the Bucs wrap up that deal. Masindi Nemtajela(23) of Marumo Gallants is another midfielder that the Bucs signed on a five year contract.

Chippa United’s Sinoxolo Kwayiba(25) is also joining the Sea Robbers for next season. The winger Kabelo Kgositsile(20) from Baroka FC is another name set to be on his way to Pirates, with Nkosikhona Ndaba at Richards Bay also captured by Houghton-based side.

Pirates will target these players

The other player that is being targeted is Jayden Rhodes at Cape Town City, as this publication previously reported. As well as Lamontville Golden Arrows midfielder Velemseni Ndwandwe(29).

Yanela Mbuthuma(23) at Richards Bay is a long term target for Pirates but the Natal Rich Boys and the player have agreed to a new five-year contract, according to SABC Sport. Which would keep him at the club for the long-term. This forces potential suitors to pay big money to acquire his services.

Should Mofokeng leave or stay at Pirates? Are you happy with the new signings?
