Orlando Pirates are reportedly willing to let go of a player who joined the club at the beginning of the season.

The Buccaneers forked out a reported R10 million for Angolan star Gilberto however things haven’t gone according to plan for the winger.

Gilberto was loaned back to his former team Petro de Luanda in January and new reports suggest the club are looking to offload him permanently at the end of the season.

“Word reaching Phakaaathi is that the powers that be at Orlando Pirates are open to selling Gilberto,” a Citizen report read.

“The attacker still has two years left on his current contract, and Petro is reportedly interested in making the deal to bring him back to the Girabola league a permanent one.”

In other related news, Orlando Pirates have entered the race to sign one of the league’s top rising stars.

The Buccaneers are struggling to keep up with rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership title race and will likely need reinforcements ahead of next season.

According to the latest transfer gossip, Orlando Pirates have turned their attention to an exciting TS Galaxy winger.

“The two clubs which we believe have apparently shown interest in Sebelebele are Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. This is just interest at the moment. The are no talks or negotiations yet,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.

“No. It’s not a replacement for Thato (Khiba) but they are looking at a different player with different attributes as well. Though after losing Khiba to Stellenbosch FC, they are believed to now have shown interest in Sebelebele. So let’s wait and see what will happen this time around.”
