Orlando Pirates are upping the ante on their pursuit for Stellenbosch star Fawaaz Basadien.
The versatile left-back is also on Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns radar but it’s the Buccaneerswho appear favourites to land the 28-year-old if he decides to leave, which is another question all together.
According to reports, Orlando Pirates are offering Stellenbosch Paseko Mako or Innocent Maela plus cash for Basadien.
“With Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns having so far failed to sign Stellenbosch FC and Bafana Bafana left-back Fawaaz Basadien, Orlando Pirates have a plan, and they have joined the scene with the aim of signing him,
“They could offload captain Innocent Maela together with Paseka Mako to get Basadien. They have come up with that strategy as they want to strengthen their left-back position in the quest to conquer both locally and in Africa, and that is why they want to move in for Basadien. So, that’s what is believed to be their plan for now to attract Basadien to Pirates.”
Kermit Erasmus to Chippa United!
“We are planning on signing him [Kermit Erasmus],” reports Chippa United coach Thabo September.
“He’s the only player we plan to sign because we have a good group and there are players who have not yet played.
“We do not want to load the squad too much. So maybe for this window that might be our only signing because we have a good team.
“Everyone knows Kermit. His history speaks for itself, and with the experience and having played abroad. He’s at home now and he always makes sure he does better. We, myself and Thabo, played with him when he was still young at SuperSport United.
“We understand each other, and the connection was here all the time. We know his strengths and weaknesses and he’ll bring great value to the club,” he finished.
