Orlando Pirates did not make any signings in the previous window, but had a player training with them.
Pirates decided that their squad was good enough to go the distance, despite playing in three competitions.
Buccaneers didn’t make a signing in January
Pirates passed their CAF Champions League test with flying colours. This after topping a group that featured defending champions Al Ahly. They will now resume their continental campaign in April. Until then, they will continue their defence of the Nedbank Cup title. Their next opponents being SuperSport United, who they have drawn in the quarterfinals.
That run of games depicting of much football their current squad will be stretched for. They have also not been without some injuries of late. The likes of Thalente Mbatha and Thabiso Sesaneto mention two. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Pirates will look to reinforce their defence with a Stellenbosch FC player.
The publication claims that Pirates are looking at Thabo Moloisane as their priority defensive target for the next window.
Pirates looking to sign Moloisane
“As far as defenders are concerned. Pirates’ main target is Thabo (Moloisane) and that’s why they are set to table an offer for him. They are looking at strengthening the central defence as they are looking at having a strong backline next season where they will compete in almost all the competitions including the CAF Champions League. Moloisane has grown as a player. He is playing in Africa with Stellenbosch and Pirates are looking at that as an advantage to sign him. You know the club is also looking at right back and left back,” said the source to the same publication.
Good signing option for the Sea Robbers?
Moloisane would be a versatile signing for Pirates offering them options both centrally and on the right. Buccaneers, would you be happy to have at your club?
